Transit Commission - SPECIAL MEETING
|
In accordance with Subsection 8 (1) (d) of Procedure By-law 2006-462, the City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 2012 will begin at 11:00 a.m., instead of the usual 10:00 a.m. The Mayor is revising the start time of the Council meeting to accommodate the Special Meeting of the Transit Commission being called by the Chair (see below) such that the Transit Commission and Council will have the benefit of receiving the results of the Amalgamated Transit Union ratification vote prior to Transit Commission and City Council consideration of the proposed agreement.To this end, and pursuant to Subsection 82 (1) of Procedure By-law 2006-462, the Chair of the Transit Commission has called a Special Meeting of the Commission on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Andrew S. Haydon Hall, for the purpose of considering, in camera, a proposed collective agreement with Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 279. The Special Transit Commission meeting will be convened immediately following conclusion of the consent agenda at Council on Wednesday (anticipated to be approximately 11:30 a.m.), at which time Council will recess until the conclusion of the Special Transit Commission meeting. As such, this email constitutes notice of this special meeting to all Members of the Transit Commission and Council in accordance with Subsection 14 (4) of the Procedure By-law.
