That
the Transportation Committee consider and recommend to Council, approval of Appendix
B to the 2011-2014 City Strategic Plan.
Que le Comité des transports examine et recommande
au Conseil, l’approbation de l’annexe B du plan stratégique de la ville de
2011-2014.
At its meeting of 1 May 2012, the Finance and Economic Development Committee will consider a report from the City Manager (ACS2012-CMR-OCM-0008) and the following recommendations:
That the Finance and Economic
Development Committee:
1. Approve Appendix A to this report; and
2. Refer the report to the Transit
Commission, Standing Committees and Council for their consideration and approval
as follows:

Committee – Appendix C: 3 May 2012;
·
Agriculture
and Rural Affairs Committee – Appendix D: 10 May 2012;

3. That
Council consider and approve this report in its
entirety following consideration by the Transit Commission and the various
Standing Committees.
Accordingly, this report is before the Transportation Committee for review and discussion.
The rural implications of implementing the recommendations set out in this report are identified in the strategic initiatives outlined in the 2011-2014 City Strategic Plan.
Notice of this
meeting was posted on the City’s website as per Section 77 of the Procedure
By-law.
This item is citywide.
There are no legal impediments to implementing the recommendations of this report.
There are no risk management implications with respect to implementing the recommendations set out in this report.
There are no additional financial implications associated with the approval of this report.
There are no accessibility implications with respect to implementing the recommendations set out in this report.
There are no environmental implications with respect to
implementing the recommendations set out in this report.
Information
Technology Services will work with departments to identify the technology
requirements and establish the appropriate work plan.
This report, and the supporting documentation,
directly relates to the Term of Council Priorities. The report contains
proposed performance measures for, and recommended amendments to, the Term of
Council Priorities.

Transportation Demand Management measures can offer many benefits including
reducing traffic congestion, deferring the need for new infrastructure, reducing
infrastructure costs, improving access and transportation options, improving
air quality, and improving mental and physical health. Funds will be used to
support ongoing educational and promotional efforts such as School Travel
Planning, Bike to Work Month, Car Free Day, National Ride-Share Week, Travelwise, CAN-BIKE Cycling Education courses, among
other initiatives. To: Transportation Demand Management initiatives are aimed at reducing the
