PRESTO SMART CARD - PRESENTATION CARTE À PUCE PRESTO – PRÉSENTATION Sharon Thompson, Strategic Support Coordinator, Customer Service and Innovation Branch was joined by David Pepper, Manager, Business & Operational Services, Business and Operational Services Branch, they spoke to an informative and in-depth presentation on the Presto System. Following the presentation they addressed a variety of questions and concerns raised by members of the committee. A copy of the presentation is held on file with the City Clerk and Solicitor’s office pursuant to the City of Ottawa Records Retention and Disposition By-law. Chris Bradshaw, Ottawa Seniors Transportation Committee, raised various questions pertaining to the use of the Presto System. RECEIVED Action: Moving forward staff has indicated that they will endeavour to have staff representation at subsequent meetings of the Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Committee. 2. TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT (TOD) STUDIES ÉTUDES SUR L’AMÉNAGEMENT AXÉ SUR LE TRANSPORT EN COMMUN Chris Brouwer, Planner III, Planning & Growth Management Department, Policy Development & Urban Design Branch spoke to a detailed PowerPoint Presentation outlining the Light Rail Project and the Transit-Oriented Development Planning Approach. Highlights of the In-progress Preliminary TOD studies were also included in the presentation. A copy of the presentation is held on file with the City Clerk and Solicitor’s office pursuant to the City of Ottawa Records Retention and Disposition By-law. Mr. Brouwer was joined by Jillian Savage, Planner II, Planning & Growth Management Department, Cheryl Brouillard, Planner II, Planning & Growth Management Department and Larry Morrison from Stantec Consulting, who were on hand to assist in addressing questions raised by committee members. RECEIVED UPDATES/MISES À JOUR 3. STAFF UPDATES MISES À JOUR DU PERSONNEL Steven Boyle, Senior Project Manager, Transportation Planning, Planning and Growth Management Department updated the committee on the following: * Upcoming items on the Planning and the Transportation Committee agendas: Statement of Works which include updates on the Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan (includes updates on the Ottawa Cycling Plan and Pedestrian Plan) and the Infrastructure Master Plan * Transportation Management Implementation Plan for Richmond Road / Westboro RECEIVED ITEMS OF BUSINESS POINTS À L’ORDRE DU JOUR 4. SUB-COMMITTEE UPDATES MISES À JOUR DES SOUS-COMITÉS Member M. Back briefed members on two meetings she attended hosted by “Walk Ottawa”, a consultation group created by Councillor Diane Holmes to aid in addressing pedestrian concerns in the City. Member B. Geiger spoke to issues that were addressed at a recent Downtown Moves meeting that he attended. He informed members that he and Member M. Haddad visited the South Keys and Greenboro Transit Stations to identify impediments / problem areas at these stations. A review of all transit stations was discussed at the February 23, 2012 meeting, a project that was created where each member would review several stations throughout the City. Member R. MacLean briefed the committee on the public consultation session and the open house he attended on the Baseline Transit Intensive Corridor. Chair R.
