INQUIRIES
DEMANDES DE RENSEIGNEMENTS
Councillor S. Blais:
The Zoning by-law only allows
three accessory structures on one lot. Under the current definition of a
building, a playhouse would constitute a structure as it has a roof, walls, and
a floor and remains more or less in one location permanently. The same would
apply for a gazebo or a shed.
Can staff clarify if some
flexibility can be read into the definition to allow homeowners to enjoy
typical amenities that families enjoy? Can additional clarification be added to
exempt structures that are small in size and typical in use? Rather than set a
limit in the number of accessory structures, can another method be used such as
percentage of lot area or some other calculation?
