1. That the Corporate Service and Economic Development Committee receive the attached report at its July 7, 2009 meeting and refer it for further review and discussion at the following standing committee meetings:

2. That discussion of the report take
place at the CSEDC meeting on August 24; and

The Quarterly Performance Report to Council is an important component of the City’s accountability framework. Accountability is fundamental to good governance.
This Quarterly Performance Report to Council Q1: January – March 2009, provides measures from a broad cross-section of service areas to the public. This report provides information on how the City is performing relative to its established standards, as well as information on changes in performance over time. The Quarterly Performance Report includes:
· Outcome measures (e.g., percentage of waste diverted from landfill);
· Service measures (e.g., calls for service requests and call volumes);
· Output measures (e.g., the number of food premise inspections);
· Efficiency measures (e.g. cost per lane kilometre for road maintenance); and,
· Customer service measures (e.g., on-time transit service performance).
This is the twelfth Quarterly Performance Report to Council and
covers the reporting period
between January and March 2009. It provides performance measures for services
within the following Departments:
· Building Code Services
· Transit Services
· Solid Waste Services
· Fleet Services
· Community and Social Services
· Fire Services
· Social Housing and Shelter Management
· Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services
· By-Law and Regulatory Services
· Public Health
· Ottawa Police Service
· Ottawa Public Library
· Planning
·
Communications
and Customer Service
·
Ottawa Paramedic
Service
·
Road and Traffic
Operations and Maintenance

No specific public consultations were undertaken in the production of the report.
