SUBJECT/OBJET         ATTENDANCE AT POLICE ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO ANNUAL CONFERENCE

RECOMMENDATION

That the Ottawa Police Services Board approve the attendance of E. El-Chantiry at the annual conference of the Police Association of Ontario being held in Mississauga, Ontario on 3 and 4 March 2014.

BACKGROUND

Attached is information about the Police Association of Ontario’s 23^rd Annual Police Employment Conference being held in Mississauga on March 3 and 4, 2014. 

The information was previously circulated to Board members to determine their interest in attending.  Chair El-Chantiry has indicated that he would like to attend on behalf of the Ottawa Police Services Board, given his role in the Board’s collective bargaining process and other labour relations matters.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT

The cost of attending this conference is estimated at $1,600 per person.  Funds have been allocated for attendance at conferences in the 2014 Police Services Board budget, account #125101-072-502112 and there are sufficient funds to cover this request.
