SUBJECT/OBJET 2014 POLICE SERVICES BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE
That the Ottawa Police Services Board approve the 2014 meeting schedule.
DISCUSSION
Since 1995 the Police Services Board has typically held regular monthly meetings on the fourth Monday of each month. The meetings are held at 5:00 p.m. in the Champlain Room, Heritage Building, Ottawa City Hall.
Annex A contains a schedule of Police Services Board meetings for the year 2014 in accordance with past practice. There are three months in which meetings will not be held on the fourth Monday, as follows:
· There is no meeting in August, as is the Board’s normal practice.
· The meeting in October has been moved to the third Monday (October 20) because the Ontario Municipal Election falls on the fourth Monday (October 27).
· The December meeting is scheduled on the third Monday (December 15) because the fourth Monday is during the week of Christmas.
CONSULTATION
Not applicable.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Costs associated with holding regular Board meetings and community meetings have been included in the 2014 Draft Budget for the Police Services Board.
CONCLUSION
The Police Services Board is asked to approve the dates for regular meetings of the Board that are set out in the schedule attached at Annex A. Dates and topics for community focused public interest meetings will be added to the schedule at a later date as required.
