RECOMMENDATION

That the Ottawa Police Services Board approve the attendance of E. El-Chantiry, L.A. Smallwood and W. Fedec at the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards (OAPSB) Labour Seminar being held in Toronto on November 4 - 5, 2013.

BACKGROUND

Attached is information about the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards’ Labour Seminar being held in Toronto, Ontario from November 4 - 5, 2013. 

The information was previously circulated to Board members to determine their interest in attending.  Chair El-Chantiry, Member Smallwood and Executive Director Fedec have indicated they would like to attend on behalf of the Ottawa Police Services Board. 

FINANCIAL STATEMENT

The total estimated cost of attending is $1,200 per person.  Funds were included in the 2013 Police Services Board budget for attendance at conferences and conventions in accordance with the Board’s training policy.  There are sufficient funds remaining in the budget to meet this request.
