                                         POLICE SERVICES BOARDS’ FALL SEMINAR

 

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That the Ottawa Police Services Board approve the attendance of E. El-Chantiry and W. Fedec at the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards (OAPSB) Fall Seminar being held in Toronto on November 12 - 13, 2012.

 

BACKGROUND

 

Attached is information about the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards’ Fall Seminar being held in Toronto, Ontario from November 12-13, 2012.  The Seminar is entitled “HR Issues & Beyond Morden”. 

 

The information was previously circulated to Board members to determine their interest in attending.  Chair El-Chantiry and Executive Director Fedec have indicated they would like to attend on behalf of the Ottawa Police Services Board.  Member Jensen will also be in attendance as he currently serves as the President of the OAPSB.

 

FINANCIAL STATEMENT

 

The total estimated cost of attending is $1,500 per person.  Funds were included in the 2012 Police Services Board budget for attendance at conferences and conventions in accordance with the Board’s training policy.  There are sufficient funds remaining in the budget to meet this request.
