REPORT RECOMMENDATION
That the Transit Commission recommend that Council approve:
1.
The adoption of the fares outlined in
Document 1 of this report, to come into effect on July 1, 2012;
2.
The application of Express fares to the
current Rural Express routes, as described in this report; and,
3.
The termination of the ECOPASS program, as
described in this report.
John Manconi, General Manager, Transit Services,
introduced Vincent Patterson, Manager, Transit Marketing & Strategic
Development and Pat Scrimgeour, Manager, Transit Service Design. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation
delivered by Mr. Manconi is held on file.
Also present to answer questions were Marian Simulik, City Treasurer,
and Jane Wright, Chief, Customer Service & Innovation, Transit Services.

Moved by Commissioner S. Desroches:
Whereas a number of local employers
encourage public transit as part of their corporate green agendas and or LEED
commitments.
Whereas a number of these local
employers have been key partners in the ECOPASS program as part of their green
corporate culture
Therefore be it resolved that OCTranspo
develop a supportive and flexible program with Presto for local employers who
wish to subsidize and or encourage transit use by employees.

The report recommendation was then put to the Commission and CARRIED, as amended by Motion 21/2.
