COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS

 

That Council approve:

 

1.         That a selection committee of Councillors be established to select the members of Project Working Groups; and,

 

2.         That individuals interested in participating in a Working Group be asked to submit a Letter of Interest indicating their background and expertise relating to the subject matter of the particular project.

BACKGROUND

 

At the 12 May 2011 meeting of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, the Committee approved the following motion:

 

Whereas the Rural Review is the umbrella name given to the suite of inter-related rural land use planning projects in the rural area that will be completed to inform the 2014 review of the Official Plan;

 

And whereas a Rural Review Steering Committee has been established to provide oversight and advice to the individual projects;

 

And whereas the Steering Committee Project Charter contemplates the creation of Working Groups for the individual projects;

 

And whereas working groups may be required by the Steering Committee;

 

Therefore be it resolved that:

 

1.   A selection committee of Councillors will be established to select the members of Project Working Groups; and,

 

2.   Individuals interested in participating in a Working Group will be asked to submit a Letter of Interest indicating their background and expertise relating to the subject matter of the particular project.

 

 

 

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS

 

There are no financial implications with the approval of the recommendations in this report.

 

 

DISPOSITION

 

Staff to take appropriate action as directed by Council.

That the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee approve the addition of this item for consideration by the Committee at today’s meeting, pursuant to section 84(3) of the Procedure By-Law (being By-Law 2006-462).
