That Council approve that the Terms of Reference for the Parking Stakeholder Consultation Group be amended as follows:

 

1.      The addition of one (1) member to represent accessibility-related issues;

2.      The addition of a fourth BIA representative;

3.      The removal of the geographical/location limitations related to the BIA seats; and,

4.      That vacancies in membership be filled by drawing from eligible members of the existing pool of candidates that submitted applications under other categories.

BACKGROUND

 

At the request of Public Works staff, Councillor Monette moved the addition of this item at the Transportation Committee meeting of 2 March 2011: The following motion was added and approved.

 

WHEREAS City Council approved the Municipal Parking Management Strategy in April 2009, which included Terms of Reference for the creation of a Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group; and

 

WHEREAS the Terms of Reference for the Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group currently identifies the following membership:

·         Chair - General Manager of Public Works;

·         One (1) Core BIA representative;

·         One (1) Main street BIA representative;

·         One (1) Suburban BIA representative;

·         Three (3) Community Association representatives;

·         One (1) Transportation Demand Management / Cycling / Pedestrian representative;

·         One (1) Member from the Ottawa Tourism and Convention Authority;

·         One (1) Development Industry / Building Owner / Manager representative;

·         One (1) Place of Worship representative;

·         One (1) Member at large; and

WHEREAS the Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group and staff are recommending changes to the membership; and

 

WHEREAS the term for the Parking Stakeholders Consultation Group coincides with the term of Council and a process was initiated to solicit applications and select a Group for the 2010-2014 term of Council;

 

WHEREAS the General Manager of Public Works approves all appointments to the Parking Stakeholder Consultation Group;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Terms of Reference for the Parking Stakeholder Consultation Group be amended as follows:
