BY-LAW NO. 2010-

A by-law of the City of Ottawa to establish the size of the Board of Health for the City of Ottawa Health Unit.

WHEREAS the City of Ottawa Act, 1999 has been amended to provide for the establishment of an independent Board of Health for the City of Ottawa Health Unit;

AND WHEREAS, pursuant to these amendments, City Council shall by by-law establish the size of the Board of Health;

THEREFORE the Council of the City of Ottawa enacts as follows:

1. The Board of Health for the City of Ottawa shall be composed of eleven members consisting of six members of City Council and five citizen representatives.

2. The term of office of a member of the Board of Health continues during the pleasure of Council that appointed the member but, unless ended sooner, ends with the ending of the term of office of the Council.

3. This by-law shall come into force and take effect on the date that the amendments to the City of Ottawa Act, 1999 respecting the establishment of the Board of Health are proclaimed.
