The Community and Protective Services Committee received a verbal presentation on September 17, 2009 from Dr. Isra Levy, Medical Officer of Health. The presentation focussed on the public health aspect of the City of Ottawa’s preparedness plan. The following individuals accompanied him:
· Dr. Virginia Roth, Director, Infection Prevention and Control Program, The Ottawa Hospital
· Dr. Nadine Sicard, Assistant Medical Officer of Health, Vaccine Preventable Diseases
· Ms. Sherry Nigro, Manager, Integration Quality and Standards
At the meeting, the following motion was adopted:
Whereas
the Mayor has asked the Chair of the Community and Protective Services Committee
to provide Members of Council with an update on the City’s plan for H1N1
preparedness and response at the September 23, 2009 meeting of Council;
Therefore
Be It Resolved That Community and Protective Services Committee
recommend that an expanded presentation on the City of Ottawa’s H1N1
preparedness plan be presented by the Chair of CPSC at the September 23, 2009
City Council meeting, along with a presentation by City staff.
Accordingly, this matter is before Council for presentation and discussion.
