REVIEW OF URBANDALE PROPOSAL FOR RAPID TRANSIT
OBJET: Examen par le personnel de la proposition d’urbandale
concernANT le transport en commun rapide
That Council approve that the report on the staff review of the Urbandale
Proposal for rapid transit be received at a joint meeting of the Transit and
Transportation Committees on 7 November 2007.

Conseil approuve que l’on prenne connaissance du rapport sur l’examen par le
personnel de la proposition d’Urbandale concernant le transport en commun
rapide à la réunion conjointe du Comité des transports et du Comité du
transport en commun le 7 novembre 2007.
At the Transportation Committee meeting held on
October 3, 2007, the Rules of Procedure were suspended to consider the
following motion brought forward by Councillor Cullen:
Whereas
at its meeting of 12 September 2007 City Council directed staff to review the
Urbandale Proposal for rapid transit in Ottawa and report back to Committee by
October 2007 on the appropriateness of the corridors, recommendations on
modifications of the corridors including expansion to Kanata and across the
Strandherd Bridge to Barrhaven, and a timetable to undertake any additional or
modifications of studies to implement such a network;
And
whereas staff are currently reviewing in detail the proposal and its
implications for the entire transit network and require further time to come
forward with a well-researched analysis;
Therefore
be it resolved that the report be received at a joint meeting of the Transit
and Transportation Committees on November 7th.
At that time, the Committee unanimously approved the aforementioned Motion and agreed that it be forwarded to City Council for its consideration on 10 October 2007.
CONSULTATION
