That Council approve the
following appointments of individuals to the Local Architectural Conservation
Advisory Committee. All voting members’
terms to expire 30 November 2008, unless otherwise indicated. All reserve members’ terms to expire in
accordance with the Appointment Policy.

The Appointment Policy for Citizen Members of City
Advisory Committees, Boards, Commissions, Task Forces and Authorities, approved
by City Council on 3 December 2003, directs that the recruitment process for
Advisory Committees and Boards will commence in the fall of each year, with
appointments to be effective December 1.
Advertisements for membership on various City of
Ottawa advisory committees and boards were placed in the Ottawa Citizen and Le
Droit for a two-week period. In
addition, the ads were posted on the City website and at all City facilities,
and was sent to all organizations and associations with a potential
interest.
The application deadline was Friday, 16 September
2005 at 4:30 p.m.
The Selection Panel was comprised of Councillors
Peter Hume and Gord Hunter as well as Jay Baltz and Barbara Warren, members of
the Advisory Committee. Their recommendations for six voting members and five
reserve members are submitted for approval by Committee and Council. The role of the reserve members is outlined
in the Appointment Policy where they will be appointed should a vacancy
occur. The Policy also directs that the reserve list be maintained until the next advertisement for
vacancies, or for one year, whichever is shorter.
