Both French School Boards have agreed to make Oct 25 a PD Day. AMCTO has petitioned the Province to make changes to Regulation 304 under the Education Act to require that a PD day be held on election day. The Elections Office used social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook) to make Election information more accessible, particularly to youth. Staff are preparing a number of youth initiatives, which will be incorporated into the 2010 Elections Report expected to go to Council in Q3 2011.

Motion remains incomplete primarily at the request of the hospitals who were not ready to meet to discuss the future until recently.  Staff will be meeting with hospital officials Q4 2010 and will report back in 2011.

Service Excellence Plan - That the City Manager be directed to incorporate in the development of the departmental service excellence plans, a strategic branch review which identifies services, service standards, business process improvements, and efficiencies for consideration by the relevant Standing Committees and Council.

Ottawa Congress Centre - working group to meet with reps of the Ottawa Congress Centre... to explore possibilities for obtaining enough funds to pay for the annual debenture…the City Manager to provide staff support to the Working Group. 1-Dec-09 M. Wilkinson http://www.ottawa.ca/calendar/ottawa/citycouncil/csedc/2009/12-01/disposition51eng.htm ISCS - CSS  (lead) / CMO In Progress: City staff are working with the Ottawa Congress Centre and the OCC Board of Directors to formalize a working committee and is awaiting comment from the Province of Ontario on their specific recommendations pertaining to potential sources of revenue. This is in response to a Motion introduced by Counc. Wilkinson and approved by Council on May 14, 2008 concerning options for offsetting the City's financial contribution for the new OCC.
At its meeting of Dec 9, 2009, CSEDC appointed Councillors El-Chantiry and Wilkinson to a working group to meet with representatives of the OCC. A working group meeting was organized and hosted by Councillor Wilkinson on March 9, 2010 with Pat Kelly, Executive Director of the OCC.

Councillor Wilkinson was going to pursue a meeting with a local MPP or the Premier of Ontario along with other Council members to discuss the issue of debt repayment and options by which this could be accomplished. Staff support for the working group will be provided as required through existing resources.            
That CSEDC direct staff to pursue negotiations with the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) for the City to acquire the St. Thomas School site at 9 Leeming Drive; and
That staff be directed to consult with the Ward Councillor and the community on the future uses of the school on the condition of net and/or all renovation, demolition or construction costs funding this acquisition through a Special Services Levy (Section 326); and
That staff report to CSEDC on the status of the negotiations for acquiring the site and the funding sources for this acquisition.

1-Dec-09   http://www.ottawa.ca/calendar/ottawa/citycouncil/csedc/2009/12-01/disposition51eng.htm CMO - REPDO In Progress:  A report, "Acquisition-9 Leeming Drive-Former St. Thomas School-Owned by Ottawa Catholic District School Board (OCDSB)" was approved by Council on 12 May 2010. This report authorized staff to complete the acquisition of the former St. Thomas School property from the OCDSB, based on the Acquisition Agreement and utilizing debt financing, in the approximate amount of $2M. The acquisition has been completed and the transaction closed on 10 September 2010. Staff will consult further with the community on the future uses of the subject property, based on reaching a community consensus that a Special Services Levy will be implemented for the City to recover its acquisition costs and/or all related net renovation, demolition, or construction costs related to the proposed community uses, and report back to Council by June 8th, 2011.

1.  To ensure that the Traffic Impact Assessment for the CCE relocation specifically assess the transportation impacts of this relocation on Albion Rd through the Blossom Park Community (Albion Rd between Bank St and Lester Rd) and whether the traffic impacts warrant the consideration and implementation of interim measures as part of the relocation and
2.  To look into the long-term transportation solution such as an Albion Rd By-Pass that will accommodate projected growth from other planned developments that will impact the area as part of the next TMP review, as well as other upgrades that may be warranted to the broader transit and transportation network.
3.  That staff amend the wording in Doc 2, prior to Council, to ensure that the CCEA runs the fair a minimum of 3 years within the 8 year period.

1 & 2 In Progress: There has not been a revised site plan submitted for the CCE and part of the approval process would require a revised Transportation Impact Study.  The revised study will assess the transportation impacts of the relocated CCE on Albion Road through the Blossom Park Community, and consider the type and implementation of interim measures, if needed, as part of the relocation.
