DISCUSSION

At the 20 February 2001 meeting of the Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee, a report was approved nominating members to various Business Improvement Area (BIA) Management Boards in the City.   Section 220 of the Municipal Act requires that Council is to appoint BIA Board members.

Following the 25 September Council meeting, the Westboro Business Improvement Area notified the City of two vacancies on its Board and therefore, requests Council to approve the appointment of two replacements.  Pursuant to discussion at the BIA’s September Board meeting, the BIA has recommended the appointment of Mr. Chris Green, owner, Harvest Loaf Bakery, and Ms. Mary Voteary, Branch Manager, Scotiabank, Westboro Branch.  Each member will serve for the balance of the term expiring November 2003.
