CARRIED
At the 20 February 2001 meeting of
the Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee, a report was
approved nominating members to various Business Improvement Area (BIA)
Management Boards in the City. Section
220 of the Municipal Act requires that Council is to appoint BIA Board
members.
Following the 25 September Council meeting, the Westboro Business Improvement Area notified the City of two vacancies on its Board and therefore, requests Council to approve the appointment of two replacements. Pursuant to discussion at the BIA’s September Board meeting, the BIA has recommended the appointment of Mr. Chris Green, owner, Harvest Loaf Bakery, and Ms. Mary Voteary, Branch Manager, Scotiabank, Westboro Branch. Each member will serve for the balance of the term expiring November 2003.
As this is an administrative
matter completed on behalf of the BIA, consultation is not required.
There are no financial implications
related to this report.
A letter dated 8 October from the
BIA Executive Director and biographies of Mr. Chris Green and Ms. Mary Voteary
are on file with the City Clerk.
Upon approval of the report by
Council, Secretariat Services will notify the Westboro BIA of the appointments.
