connaissance de ce rapport en vue d’en discuter.
At the Monday, 9 December 2002 meeting with the Advisory Committees and
Boards Chairs and Vice-Chairs, staff responded to a request to provide training
to members of Advisory Committees with implementation of an upcoming training
session that would be held for Advisory Committee and Board members.
It has been confirmed that this training / information session will
be held on Saturday, 15 February 2003 at 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Colonel
By Room, 2nd floor, 110 Laurier Avenue, City Hall.
Topics to be reviewed during this morning session include:
·
An Overview of
the Procedure By-Law
·
How to Chair a
Meeting
·
Related Issues
(i) Conflict of Interest (ii) Perceived Bias, and (iii) Conduct both in and
outside the meeting
·
The Council and
Committee reporting and approval structure
- the “How To’s” of moving motions, various approvals required,
reporting structure, timelines, etc.
Due to space limitations and the desire to allow for an atmosphere of
informal discussion and questions, attendance to the session has been
limited. Options for attendance should
be determined in advance by the Committee and can take various forms, however,
is limited to three members per Committee.
For example, the Chair, Vice-Chair and one other member may attend, or
the Committee may appoint a subcommittee of three members to attend. As a follow up, it is hoped the participants
will take the information back to the remaining Committee membership.
Once the participants have been determined by the Committee, please RSVP by Monday, 3 February 2003 to Cheryle Watson at 580-2424 Ext. 21835 or Cheryle.Watson@ottawa.ca indicating the name(s) of the participant(s) and the Committee they represent. Confirmation of your registration and an agenda will be provided to the participants prior to the 15 February session.
Questions regarding the session may be directed to Elaine Fleury, Manager, Council and Committee Services at 580-2424 Ext. 26836 or Stephani Roy McCallum, Program Manager, Policy and Projects, at 580-2424 Ext. 21779.
