Member M. Saumweber indicated
that she took part in a working group meeting on February 14, 2012 on
behalf of SAC. She informed members that the initiative was brought forward via
a motion that was passed by City Council in October 2011. The motion was
two-fold, the requirement of an accessible section dealing with accessibility
impacts in all reports going before committee and council. The second portion
was the development of an accessibility checklist. She identified a few of the
top priorities outlined within the checklist which is available online on the
City’s website.
