1. PRESTO
SMARTCARD
Sharon Thompson and Robin Doner, OC Transpo
provided a PowerPoint Presentation on the PRESTO Smartcard. A copy of the presentation is held on file
with the City Clerk.
Members asked about how transfers will work
with the new system, wording of communication, children fares, low frequency
riders uses, minimum fee for ePurse, using, the STO system in Gatineau, Number
of current Community Pass holders, reaching out to Community Pass holders.

REDUCTION STRATEGY: CITY’S PEOPLE PLAN
Lois Emburg, Diversity and Employment Equity
and Beth Dewan, Child Care Centre provided a PowerPoint presentation on the
City’s People Plan. A copy of the
presentation is held on file with the City Clerk.
Members asked about performance indicators,
Diversity Champions, how is the city doing with hiring people in poverty.

POVERTY
Leonore Evans, Tamatha Trenholm, Community and Social Services
Department and Anna Hilban, Ontario Works worker provided a PowerPoint
presentation on Rural Poverty. A copy of
the presentation is held on file with the City Clerk.
Members asked about the number of rural residents on poverty, Budget
available to help those residents, income differential for rural residents.

Food Security
Leonore Evans provided a brief verbal update on the report in
development regarding a Food Security policy for the City of Ottawa
Governance
Chair Sloan provided a brief update on a Focus group meeting he attended
hosted by the Deputy City Clerk. The
Chair also mentioned his meeting with the Chair of the Community and Protective
Services Committee
