1. Minutes

 

The minutes were adopted without changes.

 

2. Location

 

Robbie has booked the Bridlewood Community Centre.  He has a draft contract and ensuring there is no cost.

 

3. Review and finalize agenda

 

It was decided that we needed to allow more time for each speaker, more time for registration, finish earlier, and trim the number of speakers.  The revised agenda is below.

4. Brainstorm funding opportunities

 

We feel that it would be great to have sponsorship for this event.  The parts of the day that have a cost include coffee breaks, speaker gifts, lunch, and door prizes.  The following is a list of possible sponsors organized by theme.  It would also be good to hold a carbon neutral event.  I will speak with Trees Canada about this.  It was determined that lunch would cost approximately $1000.  Perhaps a sponsor like the Ottawa Stewardship Council could help us here.

OFGAC Community Award

If this idea is to become a reality it will require a subcommittee.  There is $200-$300 in the budget for awards.

 

Poster Area

The local universities and colleges should be contacted to submit posters relating to forestry in the City of Ottawa.  This area would also be good to showcase City initiatives like UNAESS and the Greenspace Master Plan.
