CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES RATIFICATION DES PROCÈS-VERBAUX Minutes 19 of the Ottawa Built Heritage Advisory Committee of 19 April 2012 were confirmed. APPLICATION TO ALTER DEMANDE VISANT À TRANSFORMER 1. APPLICATION TO ALTER 2226 OLD MONTREAL ROAD, A PROPERTY DESIGNATED UNDER PART IV OF THE ONTARIO HERITAGE ACT DEMANDE EN VUE DE MODIFIER LE 2226, CHEMIN OLD MONTRÉAL, PROPRIÉTÉ DÉSIGNÉE AUX TERMES DE LA PARTIE IV DE LA LOI SUR LE PATRIMOINE DE L’ONTARIO ACS2012-PAI-PGM-0121 REPORT RECOMMENDATIONS That the Ottawa Built Heritage Advisory Committee recommend that Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee recommend that Council: 1. Approve the application to alter 2226 Old Montreal Road in accordance with the designs by W. Elias Engineering and Associates Consulting Engineers received on April 19, 2012 and included as Document 3; 2. Delegate authority for minor design change, to the General Manager, Planning and Growth Management Department; and 3. Issue the heritage permit with a two-year expiry from the date of issuance. (Note: The statutory 90-day timeline for consideration of this application under the Ontario Heritage Act will expire on July 18, 2012.) (Note: Approval to Alter this property under the Ontario Heritage Act must not be construed to meet the requirements for the issuance of a building permit.) Stuart Lazear, Coordinator, Heritage Planner, provided an overview of the report. He briefly responded to a question from committee and clarified that the process to extend past the two year expiry date would be simple if done prior to the date. However, if done after, then a new application would be required. Prior to the meeting the committee received the following correspondence on this matter, a copy of which is held on file with the City Clerk: * Letter dated 7 May 2012 from David Farmer in support of the report recommendation. * Letter dated 4 May 2012 from René Corbeil (Owner) in support of the report recommendation. Mr. Corbeil and Sam Elias, Engineer, were present at the meeting and responded to questions from members. The report recommendation was moved by Pierre Maheu and CARRIED as presented. HERITAGE GRANT APPROVALS APPROBATION DES SUBVENTIONS AU PATRIMOINE The committee received copies of heritage grant approvals pertaining to the following properties: * 2659 Roger Stevens Drive * 2226 Old Montreal Road * 24 Lorne Avenue * 26 Lorne Avenue * 49 St. Andrew Street * 51 St. Andrew Street * 310 St. Patrick Street * 31 Sweetland Avenue OTHER BUSINESS AUTRES QUESTIONS Chair Mulholland resumed his seat as Chair. * Members expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Lazear for many years of excellent service and wished him well in his retirement. * The Chair noted the following two Public Constultation Groups and invited interested members to contact the groups directly: * Barrhaven-Riverside South Rapid Transit EA, PCG Meeting #1, Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monterey Boardroom, Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, P.O. Box 599, 3889 Rideau Valley Drive, Manotick, Ontario * Bank Street Widening, (Leitrim Road to Rideau Road) Class Environmental Assessment Study - Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Fred Barrett Arena, 1st Floor meeting room, 3280 Leitrim Road * Chair Mulholland submitted a request to staff regarding historical statistics for the Heritage Grant Program, outlining how long it has run, when it traditionally runs out, etc. He noted the Committee would like to consider making a motion to increase the annual amount available.
