Re:  Ottawa 20/20: Official Plan, Preliminary DraftPublic Consultation

Enclosed, please find a copy of the Preliminary Draft Official Plan.   The Official Plan is a key component of Ottawa 20/20, the City of Ottawa's growth management strategy.  Public consultation on this phase of the strategy will take place until November 2002.

We would like to partner with your group to address issues that are important to you.  Throughout the late summer and fall, many committees and associations will be hosting workshops and meetings with their members to discuss the City of Ottawa’s proposed growth management plans and provide feedback to the City.  In many cases, the Development Services Department will help organize these sessions by providing materials, workshop guidelines and staff resources, when possible.

If you would like to organize a workshop with your constituents, or attend a City-hosted workshop, please call Monique Trotter at 580-2424 ext. 28598 and we will be happy to help.

Other ways to participate in these discussions:

·         Submit comments through our website at www.ottawa2020.com

·         Attend a fall workshop –  watch for more details on the website and in local and community newspapers

·         Contact your City Councillor to find out if they will be holding a Ward meeting or workshop

·         Submit your comments by mail to:
