MINUTES OF MEETING

 

 

The Ottawa-Carleton Regional Transit Commission met at Haydon Hall, Regional Headquarters, 111 Lisgar Street, Ottawa, on Wednesday, 27 October 1999.

The meeting was called to order at 2:25 p.m. with Commission Chair Al Loney presiding.

ALL MEMBERS WERE PRESENT EXCEPT COMMISSIONERS HILL AND VAN DEN HAM.

 

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

The minutes of the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Transit Commission meeting of 8 September 1999 were confirmed.

 

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST ARISING FROM PRIOR MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION AND THE TRANSIT SERVICES COMMITTEE

No declarations of interest were filed.

The following members of the Commission advised that they will be absent from Commission and Committee meetings during the dates indicated:

RESOLVED THAT the OC Transit Commission resolve into In Camera Session for the purpose of discussing the Report of the Chief Administrative Officer dated 21 October 1999 pursuant to Subsection 10a)ii) of the Procedure By-law, as it relates to:

The Chief Administrative Officer, Interim General Manager, OC Transpo and appropriate staff of the Corporation and Commission, were present to brief the Commission and respond to questions.

 

On a Motion from Commissioner M. Meilleur, the Commission arose from In Camera session.

RESOLVED THAT the Commission meet with the proposed candidate, before approving the appointment.

REPORT OF THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER DATED 21 OCTOBER 1999

1. APPOINTMENT OF GENERAL MANAGER, OC TRANSPO

DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION

That the OC Transit Commission approve the appointment of Mr. Gordon Diamond as General Manager, OC Transpo.
