4. SOCIAL HOUSING REFORM: RESPONSE TO DISCUSSION PAPER

That Council endorse the attached "Response to Discussion Paper on Social Housing Reform" and submit it to the Provincial Social Housing Committee, with the addition of the following:

In the Social Housing Working Group report dated 8 September 1998, under the heading Broader Issues amend the last sentence to read as follows:

It is recommended that a task force involving all stakeholders be established to develop options for the continuation of rent subsidies, and to explore legal means of protecting the existing housing stock, beyond the expiry of current agreements.

5. COMMUNITY FACILITY/BAYSHORE TRANSIT STATION

That the request (for a community facility/Bayshore Transit Station) be referred to the Social Services Department for a report on how Social Services, in partnership with other regjonal departments, municipalities, community agencies and the private sector can take advantage of this opportunity to provide a multi-service facility.
