CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

That the Arts Committee confirm the minutes of 27 September 1999.

REGULAR ITEMS

      1. Region of Ottawa-Carleton Arts Policy - Revised

G. Houle advised the meeting that she had incorporated the comments and suggested changes she had received into the draft arts policy. G. Houle gave a report on the revised draft arts policy and explained the revisions that had been made. Following further discussion, some minor changes were suggested to the arts policy. It was noted by Councillor Loney that the report to Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee should be forwarded to the Treasurer for his financial comment. It was also felt that this report be on the 16 Nov 99 CSED agenda and then rise to Council in December. Members of the Arts Committee asked that they be informed of this meeting in order for them to make arrangements to attend the meeting.

 

 

MOVED BY JOCELYN HARVEY:

That the Arts Committee approve the Region of Ottawa-Carleton Arts Policy dated 01 September 1999 as amended by the members of the Arts Committee.

COUNCILLORS’ ITEMS

Councillor Cantin inquired when suggested names for Artistic Assessors for the 2000 Arts Grants Program were required and was informed that staff would accept names at any time and that they were in the process of selecting panels for the Arts Grants Program.

Information Items

G. Houle reported that the Exhibition Space Opening was scheduled for 28 Oct 99 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and that the exhibition taking place would be of our 1999 acquisitions.
