Committee of Adjustment

TERMS OF REFERENCE

To hold public hearings to consider and issue decisions on the following:

  • Applications for minor variances requesting relief from any by-law implementing an Official Plan and from the Zoning By-law Z-2K, as amended, where the proposed construction or use of land does not meet by-law requirements.
  • Applications for permission regarding non-conforming uses.
  • Applications for consent dealing with land regarding Sections 49 and 52 of The Planning Act, 1983

All decisions of the Committee may be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board.

COMPOSITION

Total Membership - 5 - Term of Council - 3 years

5 citizens, with preference given to applicants with legal, architectural, planning or real estate background.

1 member must be a registered professional architect.

MEETINGS

Every first and third Thursday of the month, starting at 2:30 p.m., in the Freiman/Guigues Room, City Hall.
