The Corporation of the Township of Rideau Council Minutes The Council of The Corporation of the Township of Rideau met at Rideau Township Hall, on Monday, May 1, 2000, commencing at 7:00 p.m.. PRESENT: Mayor Glenn Brooks presiding Councillor Rob Fraser Councillor Bonnie Gray Councillor George Pratt Councillor Don Stephenson ADOPTION OF AGENDA The Agenda was adopted as amended. DECLARATIONS OF PECUNIARY INTEREST There were no declarations of pecuniary interest. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Resolution 2000-073 Moved by Councillor Pratt, seconded by Councillor Fraser that the minutes of the April 17, 2000 Council meeting be approved. Carried COMMITTEE REPORTS Resolution 2000-074 Moved by Councillor Fraser, seconded by Councillor Gray that Committee of the Whole Report CW2000-8 be received. Carried Resolution 2000-075 Moved by Councillor Fraser, seconded by Councillor Pratt CW2000-8 1. REZONING (1230381 & 1230382 ONTARIO INC.) PROJECT #2000-06-03 That Council approve the application to rezone the subject property from A2, General Rural to RE, Estate Residential. 2. TREE REPLACEMENT AND MANAGEMENT PLAN That Council approve the joint venture with Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, and that R.V.C.A. provide technical and support services for the "Tree Replacement and Management Plan". 3. 2000 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS That staff proceed with the upgrade of the roads identified in the approved 2000 Capital Budget using the following methods: Third Line Rd. (Lockhead Rd. W. to Roger Stevens Dr.) 100% recycled asphalt Third Line Rd. (Roger Stevens Dr. to Prince of Wales Dr.) 100% recycled asphalt McCordick Rd. (Pierce Rd. to Lockhead Rd. W.) 100% recycled asphalt Lockhead Rd. W. (McCordick Rd. to Third Line Rd.) 66% recycled asphalt/gravel Sutherland Rd. & Lewis Way 66% recycled asphalt/gravel Third Line Rd. (Carsonby Rd. to Brophy Dr.) 66% recycled asphalt/gravel Second Line Rd. (Roger Stevens Dr. to Century Rd.) 66% recycled asphalt/gravel Carsonby Rd. 66% recycled asphalt/gravel 4. EDWARD KIDD CRESCENT - SIGN That a sign be erected at the entrance to Edward Kidd Crescent to indicate that it is not a through street. 5. NORTH GOWER NURSERY SCHOOL PLAY-STRUCTURE TASK FORCE That Council approve an additional sum, not to exceed $400.00, for purchase of a second roof for the North Gower Nursery School Play-structure, to be funded from Cash-in-Lieu of Parkland Reserve. Carried BY-LAWS Resolution 2000-076 Moved by Councillor Gray, seconded by Councillor Pratt that By-law No. 20/2000 (1230381 & 1230382 Ontario Inc. Rezoning) be adopted. Carried OTHER BUSINESS Resolution 2000-077 Moved by Councillor Stephenson, seconded by Councillor Gray that Council meet in Committee of the Whole. Carried Council recessed at 7:10 p.m. to meet in Committee of the Whole, and resumed regular session at 8:00 p.m. Resolution 2000-078 Moved by Councillor Gray, seconded by Councillor Fraser that Council resume regular session. Carried CONFIRMATION Resolution 2000-079 Moved by Councillor Pratt, seconded by Councillor Stephenson that By-law No. 21/2000 (Confirmation) be adopted.
