“
I would like to thank you for all of the time and support you provided on
July 1st…Your dedication and support was invaluable in making the
site safe for all of us. As far as
the citizens of Dunrobin are concerned, they are proud to have you as their
community police officer and as our neighbour…” “I
would like to thank the officer who helped me… and congratulate her in the
calm way she talked to my child. She is to be commended.” “We
had the pleasure of witnessing an act of thoughtful service. The temperature was at least 29 Celsius
and the humidity was very high. With
the sun shining down on his dark blues, a police officer was changing a flat
tire for a woman ...the officer was definitely being a good Samaritan. We
wanted to express our appreciation for all the good the officers do while
they “Protect and Serve”.” “On
behalf of the World Youth Day/Papal Visit Joint Task Force I would like to
express our gratitude to your officers who assisted us in policing this
event. In particular I would like to
thank Sergeant Dan Delaney who attended with your complement to assist us in
policing the various sites … I had the opportunity to meet your officers and
all displayed a professional attitude and appearance. In addition, Cst. Maria
Amber was part of the Honour Guard at the departure ceremony. It was an
impressive sight and a fitting end to the police role…” “We
would like to extend our sincere appreciation to you and the dedicated
officers of the OPS for the efforts put forward during the recent G-8 demonstrations.
The emphasis on planning and the strategies designed to minimize property
damage and confrontation were effective and refreshing. We found the sharing
of information prior to the event was of tremendous benefit to us in our
security planning. It was also effective in our communications to our
employees, tenants and clients and was beneficial in raising awareness on
issues of personal safety and responsibility.” “I
would like to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts put forward by
the police in their planning and implementation of strategies designed to
minimize both confrontation and property damage during the G-8 “Take the
Capital”… Before the actual day of the G-8 protest, we had numerous meetings
with the various security departments with the police being actively
involved. Sr. Cst. Robert Arbour was
very proactive and informative during these sessions. …thank you for a job
well done and your continued support in the community.” “I
had the occasion to call the Ottawa Police Service as I thought that my
‘senior citizen’ mother may have gone missing. I wanted to commend all
members of the department who assisted us in this situation…The dispatchers
and the officers who attended were caring and professional. I felt assured that they were doing their
best. They followed up with us even
after I called to say she had come home.
No doubt, there are some complaints which are sent to your department.
I wanted to take the opportunity to balance the ledger.” “I
was involved in a minor accident… I would like to congratulate Cst. Miller on
the level of professionalism, the courteous attitude and the diplomacy he
displayed on the occasion. I am proud
to live in a city that has service professionals with such high quality
service standards.” “I
wanted to make you aware of the very timely and professional assistance I
received from Cst. Sean Kay…. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for Cst.
Kay’s concern and quick action. I
wanted to formally let you know that both myself and my family are very
thankful.” “I
had an unfortunate accident… Cst Lance Bennett arrived on the scene while
others were trying to convince me of the seriousness of my accident. He demonstrated a great deal of knowledge,
patience, compassion and persistence and he was able to convince me of the
necessity to see a doctor immediately… I wanted you to know personally of my
experience and my admiration for Cst. Bennett. He is a credit to the OPS and obviously cares a great deal
about the well-being of the people in this community.” “…we
would like to thank you for the assistance you all gave so unstintingly in
the immediate aftermath of … tragic death.
I would like to add a note of personal thanks to the Victim Crisis
Unit. As a stranger in your city and
inexperienced in the task ahead, I really appreciated the professional help I
was given.” “The
Navy League of Canada recently hosted an exchange group made up of
representatives from Sweden, Japan, South Korea and the UK... In no time at all Ensign Nordlander was
scheduled for a ride-along with Tactical Team…Ensign Nordlander was
completely taken back at how friendly and professional these two
representatives of your Service were.
He observed your officers interacting with not only the public in a
friendly and helpful way but also with other members of the Service. All involved within your Service can be
commended on demonstrating what Ensign Nordlander recognized as a superior
approach to policing.” “I
would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank one of your officers,
Cst Glen Barry, for his assistance to my son and I when our vehicle was
struck…Cst. Barry’s professionalism in the line of duty was excellent and a
credit to your Force. I would also
like to extend a hats off to another of your officers, S/Sgt. Mel Robertson,
for the superb service my home area now receives since taking over from the
OPP.” “I
wanted to take the time to express our thanks and appreciation for the
co-operation from Cst. Fernando Vieira. Staff at my Youth Home commented on his
professionalism and willingness to work collaboratively with community
resources in a recent situation. He
demonstrated respect and understanding with the concerns that were brought to
him by staff members.” “I
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the Kids N
Kops program for another year. I
would like to especially mention what a pleasure it was for us to work with
Cst. Natali Senechal and to have the support of Sgt. Tom Murray. Their incredible commitment to the program
and their professionalism has played an integral part of the success of this
program. As well, we would like to
thank all the officers that gave of their time and made this program fun and
enjoyable. The partnership that BSBBO
has enjoyed with the RCMP and the OPS has benefited the most important and
vulnerable population in our community, our children.” “We
contacted 9-1-1 to report that our 9 year old son who is non-verbal and lives
with a condition called autism was missing.
Within minutes, officers Moore and Wahbeh arrived on the scene. Both officers were remarkably kind,
courteous, re-assuring, and very well organized in their approach to
searching for our missing child…” “Je suis fonctionnaire de Police à Paris
(France) et je trouve votre site Internet très intéressant. En France, nous n’avons pas de site
officiel spécialement pour la Police.
De plus, sur votre site, les citoyens peuvent vous remercier pour
votre travail ce qui est une bonne reconnaissance pour notre dur mais très
beau métier.” |
