BACKGROUND

 

Section 204 of the Municipal Act requires that Council appoint Business Improvement Area Board members, who hold office until the expiration of the term of Council that appoints them.  Therefore, the 2003 municipal election necessitates the appointment of new Board Members to the various BIAs.

 

The nominees, who were submitted by the various BIAs for City Council approval, represent the diversity of businesses in the various BIAs and will be actively involved in the business community. 

 

On 17 December 2003, City Council appointed its representatives to the various BIAs as follows:
